Wrath

New Plymouth · Formed: 1994

Hailing from Mt Doom, Wrath are widely known as one of New Zealand's longest serving heavy metal bands, pulling fans from all over the country with their brutal power, immense stage presence, and crowd connection over three decades. Their song "Wretch" was famously named "Demo of the Week" on Paul Martin's legendary Axe Attack radio show in 2001. They made it to the national finals of the Lion Red Raw Battle of the Bands at Auckland’s iconic Powerstation venue, where drummer Cam Blackett won the prestigious Best Drummer award. Wrath supported the legendary Austrian death metal band Pungent Stench during their March 2005 New Zealand tour. Wrath holds a unique spot in New Zealand music history as the very first Kiwi band to stream a live performance over the internet. Wrath will always be known as a pioneering force in the New Zealand underground music scene.
